I was really interested in the aspect of virtual world learning that Judy discussed in a lecture. The example of a man using a taller avatar during a business meeting and finding his confidence increased once back in the office. I think the social potential of the virtual world is pretty limitless and am keen to hear more about studies being done on the subject. Also hearing the creator of second life Phillip Rosedale say that there was an interesting phenomenon where people seems to "behave better" in the virtual world and thinking about the impact this could have on daily life outside the virtual world. And the idea that many people feel that conferencing/holding meetings in a system such as second life is more personal and effective than something such as video conferencing is an interesting idea also.
These are some helpful sites with info about how to operate second life and also some articles discussing the impact of virtual world gaming on reality.
